Basic Homepage Guide
Wix will immediately ask you to choose a category of website you with to create. This will help narrow down the template options and make it easier to start. Pick the category that best suits your needs.
Next, you will be asked whether you’d prefer Wix to create the website for you or if you want to create one yourself. (This guide is to help you learn how to create a website using the editor.)
Wix will then show the options based on your previously selected category. Wix will show style options for you to choose from.
On the left side, Wix will display the tools needed to edit your pages.
To add a title to your home page, click the "plus" button and select text and title.
The picture below shows you that Wix will then automatically open an editing option for text. Click "edit" and type your preferred title.
An example is shown below.
Let's create a new page on your website. Click on the page image on the tool bar on the left. Click "site menu". At the bottom of this menu there, will be an option to add a page.
Wix will then offer templates for pages by category. Here we will create an "About Me" page.
An editing option will once again automatically display. Adjust the text on the page according to your needs.
Create another page if you like using the same steps as above. You may notice under the Site Pages menu you can now see that there is the "About" page that you just created.
This page is created in the same way as before only this time it's purpose is to introduce the team working together on a project. Make sure to rename the page in the site menu.
Here is an example of a second page.
You can preview your website before publishing it. This allows you to see exactly what visitors to your site will see. To do so, click on the "preview" button in the top right of the Wix editor screen.
Below is the preview version of the example. You can also see that the two pages we added are at the top of the screen as. If a visitor clicks on "About", the site will take them to that page. The same applies to pages "Team" and "Home".
